Trends & Tips for Autumn/Winter 2013

With the end of the summer drawing to a halt and the mornings turning distinctly fresher we find ourselves slipping ever closer into autumn. And this inevitably means our fave high street stores are now bulging with rails of brand new fashions and style trends to confuse and bamboozle us. So what to wear to keep up with the fash pack this next sartorial season? As usual it’s a heady mulching pot of wearable and not so wearable themes. We have flowers and blooms adorning trousers, skirts and dresses all moodily set off against a black back drop. We have dusky pinks and rosy hues for every item in your wardrobe. Tailoring is old fashioned womanly glamour with the waist, the bust and the hips all making a welcome return to the silhouette.

However beware the PVC and vinyl invasion – dresses, trousers and midi skirts have all fallen into its Tupperware like trap. And feathers! Unless you want to look like Emu without Rod I suggest you leave the feathered skirts to the fashion die hards. Let them look like Big Bird if they wish.

So pick your trends carefully this season and don’t whatever you do be tempted to dress head to toe in a latest look – that is exclusively the preserve of the teenage set. Instead take an element from a favourite trend and incorporate a piece here and there to keep your look fresh and modern. And don’t forget accessories too which are key to keeping your wardrobe current and stylish. So use your Jana Reinhardt jewellery to enhance and enrich your chosen outfit. Add an elegant touch here, a fun and playful edge there. Or echo a trend or a chosen colour palette. There is a piece for every look so why not treat yourself to something new and add the wow factor to your new seasonal wardrobe. Go on, you know you want to!

Checks: Checks and squares are everywhere this autumn and with a revival of punk on the catwalk this season tartan has made itself head of the class. The hummingbird earrings are a perfect match for this trend with their chain adornments so favoured by our tartan clad, mohecaned friends. Bang on the money but in an oh so elegant way.
Florals: large flowering blooms are everywhere this season so continue the theme with a couple of carefully chosen accessories. One of Jana’s silver rock flower pieces would be the perfect accompaniment to any florally inspired outfit.

Pinks, dusky roses and damasks: Think marshmallows over a roasty toasty log fire. Echo the warmth of these hues with touches of gold, a flash of a ring or a delicate pendent nestled between cosy layers. Silver will cool, gold will bring heat.

Embellished jumpers: Snugly and fun with sparkles and jewels, your new season jumper will be your bestest friend through the coming colder months. Continue the girly fun with a piece from Jana’s ‘Sweet Dreams’ collection - the silver goose necklace and pendent make an ideal playmate. Cute as a shiny button.

Womanly wiles: Dare to show off your curves in tailored pencilled skirts, dresses with nipped in waists or structured jackets that bring out your inner va va voom . Team with a pair of drop earrings or a very ladylike broach. Only the most elegant of jewellery need apply!
Happy shopping one and all :)
